Main Cost-Estimating Book Database – Cost Analysis Node

  • Possibility of working with cost analyses in the Main Cost-Estimating Book Database through the corresponding node, including various courses; under each course, the Cost-Estimating Books of the corresponding fields; under each Cost-Estimating Book, different years; under each year, different chapters of the Cost-Estimating Book; under each chapter, base and starred items; and finally, under each sub-branch, the corresponding base and starred items, following the same structure as the Cost-Data node

  • For the cost analyses of some fields under the Oil and Gas Facilities Course, the activities related to each Cost-Estimating Book item are provided in separate nodes under that item

  • Displaying the cost analysis of each Cost-Estimating Book item, or each activity under a Cost-Estimating Book item (Oil and Gas Facilities), in the right panel, including the list of cost components, description and unit price, quantity, coefficient and scale (Oil and Gas Facilities), component cost in the analysis, total cost of components, comparison with the price stated in the Cost-Estimating Book for the same item, and the percentage difference
  • Displaying those cost components that exist in the cost analysis but are not included among the cost components of the same year (Missing Components) in red
  • Displaying those cost components that exist in the cost analysis but their prices in the corresponding year are zero (Zero Prices) in pink
Back to Top
  • Displaying those cost components that exist in the cost analysis but are considered ineffective components (Excluded Components) as underlined
  • Displaying Exclusive cost components with a light green background for the component code and Special cost components with a light blue background for the component code

  • Possibility of creating a new cost analysis for a Cost-Estimating Book by determining the cost component year and selecting the base analysis year (a year for which a cost analysis already exists in the system for that Cost-Estimating Book)
  • Possibility of defining a new cost analysis for a base or starred item using the Cost Analysis Definition dialog box, and editing and deleting it
  • Possibility of copying cost components from another cost analysis in the same chapter or other chapters, in the same year or other years, and in the same Cost-Estimating Book or other Cost-Estimating Books

  • Possibility of assigning General cost components, Exclusive cost components, and Special cost components simultaneously to a cost analysis
Back to Top
  • Possibility of assigning Human Resources, Machinery and Equipment, Materials, Material Transportation, and Miscellaneous cost components from each of the cost component classes (General, Exclusive, Special) simultaneously to a cost analysis

  • Possibility of deleting a selected cost component and undoing the action (Oops) in the Cost Analysis Definition dialog box

  • Displaying cost components with unknown prices (Missing Components) in red, cost components with zero prices (Zero Prices) in pink, excluded components (Excluded Components) as underlined, Exclusive cost components with a light green background in the Unit column, and Special cost components with a light blue background in the Unit column in the dialog box

  • Possibility of changing a cost component from effective to ineffective and vice versa
  • Possibility of defining new cost components in the Cost Analysis Definition dialog box using the Cost Component Definition dialog box
  • Possibility of defining an alternative price for a cost component in the same dialog box
  • Possibility of determining an activity when defining a cost analysis for an item
  • Possibility of defining new activities for use in cost analyses, and editing and deleting them (Oil and Gas Facilities)

  • Possibility of searching among Human Resources, Machinery and Equipment, Materials, Material Transportation, and Miscellaneous cost components in the Cost Analysis Definition dialog box

  • Possibility of checking and reviewing the cost analyses of the items in a chapter of a Cost-Estimating Book in a specific year, or all chapters of a Cost-Estimating Book in a specific year at once

  • Reporting cost components with unknown prices (Missing Components) in the analysis of each item during cost analysis checking
  • Reporting cost components with zero prices (Zero Prices) in the analysis of each item during cost analysis checking
  • Reporting excluded components (Excluded Components) in the analysis of each item during cost analysis checking
  • Comparing the cost obtained from the cost analysis with the unit price of the same item in the Cost-Estimating Book and presenting the difference as a percentage
  • Reporting items that have cost analyses but do not exist in the Cost-Estimating Book
  • Reporting Cost-Estimating Book items that do not have cost analyses
  • Possibility of reading cost analysis information for various Cost-Estimating Book items from an input file in ASCII text format
  • Possibility of transferring cost analyses of Cost-Estimating Book items to Microsoft Excel
